Description: This heat-loving wildflower will steal the show with its showy large flowers that bloom white turning to pink and just keep coming. This low-growing perennial is a must for any hot sunny site making it an excellent choice for rock or crevice gardens. It performs best in sandy or clay soils but is adaptable to a variety of soil types. Attractive to bees, butterflies and moths, it requires hummingbird moths to be fully pollinated and is a great way to attract these unique moths to your garden.

Found in Nature: Exposed sites in meadows, roadside ditches and clay flats.

Distribution: Found across the plains into the foothills and subalpine of Alberta and into several states including Montana, Idaho and Colorado.

Notes: This is a short lived perennial, 3 to 4 years, that requires pollination by Hummingbird Moths; hand pollination may be needed to keep it in your garden.

Important Information: The "Bloom Period" is an indicator of the time period within which the wildflowers will bloom and does not describe the time period that a single plant will bloom. The "Sizes" listed are intended to be a general guideline to consult during plant selection. Plant growth and bloom times will vary depending on geographical location & individual site conditions.
