Description: Spires of blue or purple flowers rising up on tall stems in late spring to summer are beautiful to behold. A favorite of bees and hummingbirds, lupines are a great addition to the garden. A versatile plant that will thrive in a variety of places, use to your advantage. Take care though if you have livestock as it can be toxic to sheep, although wildlife is able to eat it with no great issues.

Found in Nature: Forests, woodlands and grasslands.

Distribution: Western North America along the Rocky Mountains

Notes: Can be poisonous to some livestock
