Description: Branchy shrub up to 1.5m tall with a neat upright parallel growth pattern. New growth is uniquely speckled with gold-like flecks. The underside of the dark green leaves has distinctive reddish-brown speckles. Tiny yellow flowers in spring give way to clusters of bright red berries. The fruit is one of the first to ripen in this region. Birds enjoy the fruit and will strip a plant quickly. Drought tolerant and versatile.

Notes: Does not like its roots to be disturbed after planting. Not recommended for landscapes in bear country.

Important Information: The "Bloom Period" is an indicator of the time period within which the wildflowers will bloom and does not describe the time period that a single plant will bloom. The "Sizes" listed are intended to be a general guideline to consult during plant selection. Plant growth and bloom times will vary depending on geographical location & individual site conditions.
