Description: This funky looking wildflower can be found naturally along streambanks in full sun to shade along the Rocky Mountains. Monkeyflowers make a lovely addition to any moist garden spot with beautiful pink or purple flowers appearing in profusion throughout the summer that bring in bees and hummingbirds. Although known as an annual, this plant will reseed itself or may come back perennially if conditions suit it.

Found in Nature: Moist, sunny to shady sites next to creeks and streams.

Distribution: Montane to alpine in Alberta, British Columbia and Rocky Mountain states.

Notes: This plant is known as an annual that will reseed itself but it may perform as a perennial if conditions are ideal.
Genus name recently changed from Mimulus
