Description: Works as a thin flowing groundcover under conifers. Leaves are evergreen, stiff and spiny, but will turn brown in spring. Large, showy yellow flowers give way to large clusters of blueberry-sized, powdery blue fruit. The fruit is tart but edible.

Notes: Does best with extra moisture and snow cover through the winter.
