Description: Dainty yellow flower spires rise above a clump of showy leaves that turn a stunning red in the fall. Grows best in part shade and dry soils, would do well in a rock garden. Alumroots are favourites of bees and hummingbirds.

Found in Nature: Wooded mountain areas and gravelly slopes or cliffs

Distribution: Along the Rocky Mountains in Canada and the US
