Description: Lush leafy branches hide dangling bell-shaped flowers that turn into bright red berries in the fall. Burnt yellow foliage in the fall attracts attention and is great contrast for reds and pinks. This plant likes moist to wet sites and shade, making it a great choice for north-facing gardens. Twisted stalk is a traditional food source with the stalks and berries being edible in small quantities. It can be easily confused with a toxic member of the lily family so it should only be consumed if completely sure it is the right plant and then only in small amounts.

Found in Nature: Shaded, moist hollows, creek edges and wet slopes.

Distribution: Northern latitudes across the world including Canada and the Northern United States.

Important Information: The "Bloom Period" is an indicator of the time period within which the wildflowers will bloom and does not describe the time period that a single plant will bloom. The "Sizes" listed are intended to be a general guideline to consult during plant selection. Plant growth and bloom times will vary depending on geographical location & individual site conditions.
