Description: Attractive stalks of white to yellow flowers rise up from pea-like stems from late spring to late summer. A great choice for open, moist sites where bees, butterflies and birds including hummingbirds can use it as a food source. Capable of fixing nitrogen from the air, milk vetch is a great choice for enhancing soil health. It is edible in small quantities but can become toxic if eating too much. Take caution if you have livestock.

Found in Nature: Woodlands, wetlands and open prairie

Distribution: Throughout North America

Notes: Can be toxic if too much is ingested

Important Information: The "Bloom Period" is an indicator of the time period within which the wildflowers will bloom and does not describe the time period that a single plant will bloom. The "Sizes" listed are intended to be a general guideline to consult during plant selection. Plant growth and bloom times will vary depending on geographical location & individual site conditions.
