Description: Milkvetch attracts many insects and is a favourite of bees. Its common name comes from the belief in history that cows fed with milkvetch yielded more milk.
Conversely, milkvetch often absorbs high concentrations of selenium, which can cause selenium poisoning in livestock, or “loco disease,” like the Oxytropis family which it is often confused for.

Found in Nature: Prairie grassland to rocky foothills.

Important Information: The "Bloom Period" is an indicator of the time period within which the wildflowers will bloom and does not describe the time period that a single plant will bloom. The "Sizes" listed are intended to be a general guideline to consult during plant selection. Plant growth and bloom times will vary depending on geographical location & individual site conditions.
