Description: Similar in appearance to Lupines, Prairie turnip, also known as Indian Breadroot has long been used as a traditional food source. Flowers that are great for bees and roots that are delicious for people, Prairie turnip is a great addition to the edible or pollinator garden. Best grown in full sun and well drained soil.
Found in Nature: Prairie and dry woodlands
Distribution: Great Plains Region. In Canada from Alberta east through Manitoba.
