Wild Yarrow has aromatic foliage and will occasionally have pale pink flowers. Yarrow is often over-looked as plain or uninteresting but it provides a critical backdrop or contrast color to the landscape that when lacking seems to make the more “colorful” blooms less vivid. Yarrow is an aggressive plant but this can be an advantage in large spaces, hard to grow areas or as erosion control on slopes and embankments.
Dry to moist open to shaded meadows, ditches and woodlands.
Common - Prairies, Rocky Mountains, Parklands and Boreal Forest.
Important Information: The "Bloom Period" is an indicator of the time period within which the wildflowers will bloom and does not describe the time period that a single plant will bloom. The "Sizes" listed are intended to be a general guideline to consult during plant selection. Plant growth and bloom times will vary depending on geographical location & individual site conditions.
