Description: This hardy native grass is smaller than Rough Fescue, with finer leaves and a different shade of green. As a specimen grass it has great form and color, and in a native planting it germinates quickly and is a vigorous grower. Its low-growing habit makes it a good “no mow” lawn alternative that is lumpy, not sod like.

Found in Nature: Dry open sites.

Distribution: Montane to Alpine

Important Information: The "Bloom Period" is an indicator of the time period within which the wildflowers will bloom and does not describe the time period that a single plant will bloom. The "Sizes" listed are intended to be a general guideline to consult during plant selection. Plant growth and bloom times will vary depending on geographical location & individual site conditions.
