Description: This beautiful wildflower has showy lightly-scented blooms, red stems and a great form. It makes a great border plant and its pinky-purple late summer blooms attract butterflies. This wildflower has great presence in a large landscape, it will grow in wet soil and tolerate some shade but for best results plant in a moist sunny location. Joe Pyeweed has medicinal properties. It is an excellent late season food source for native bees and hummingbirds.

Found in Nature: Moist or wet grassy meadows and thickets.

Distribution: Prairies & Foothills
