Description: Fringed Aster prefers shadier spaces but is sometimes found in moist sunny ditches. Plant in with trees & shrubs where it can spread and bring great fall interest to the space. All Asters are important late season pollinators for bees and their late season blooms add color when most other wildflowers are finished for the season.

Found in Nature: Wooded areas and moist clearings.

Distribution: Foothill, Montane and occasionally the Prairies

Notes: Available as larger potted stock - pick up only.
Genus name recently changed from Aster to Symphotrichum

Important Information: The "Bloom Period" is an indicator of the time period within which the wildflowers will bloom and does not describe the time period that a single plant will bloom. The "Sizes" listed are intended to be a general guideline to consult during plant selection. Plant growth and bloom times will vary depending on geographical location & individual site conditions.
