Description: Brilliant blue flowers light up dry rocky sites in the heat of summer. Alberta Penstemon likes it hot and dry, and is often found growing on steep rocky southwest-facing embankments. Hummingbirds are fond of Penstemons and in the fall the foliage turns reddish. This is a showy selection for sloped gravelly sites or rock gardens.

Found in Nature: Dry rocky/gravelly slopes and open sites.

Distribution: Foothills, Rocky Mountains

Important Information: The "Bloom Period" is an indicator of the time period within which the wildflowers will bloom and does not describe the time period that a single plant will bloom. The "Sizes" listed are intended to be a general guideline to consult during plant selection. Plant growth and bloom times will vary depending on geographical location & individual site conditions.
