Plants may be ready for shipping or pick-up as early as mid April and are available until October 15th; a minimum order of 12 plugs is required for shipping. Seeds are available year round with no minimum order. Larger potted stock is available for sale but must be picked-up, please inquire regarding availability. Native Grass Seed Mixes

Prairie Meadow Mix - The grasses in this seed mix will grow well with sun loving native perennial wildflowers like Brown Eyed Susan, Blue Flax and Wild Bergamot to produce an aesthetically pleasing naturalized prairie meadow. Each variety of grass has a unique looking seed head and grows around 18" - 24" tall. This mix contains Rocky Mountain Fescue, Blue Grama Grass, Junegrass, Needle and Thread Grass and Ticklegrass.

Open Woodland Mix - The grasses in this seed mix are happy to grow in sun or part shade in moist to moderately wet soil. They grow 2' - 3.5' tall grasses and will create a showy display when grown in conjunction with wildflowers like White Geranium, Tall Bluebells and Canada Violet. This mix contains Rocky Mountain Fescue, Needle Grass, Alpine Blue Grass, Little Blue Stem, Side Oats Grama, Big Blue Stem, Tufted Hairgrass and Ticklegrass.

ROCKY MOUNTAIN FESCUE

This low growing, native grass provides an alternative to endless mowing in areas where mowing serves no real purpose. Growing 12 to 18" " this clump forming grass will fill in to provide great coverage and can be planted with low growing wildflowers to create a beautiful self-sustainable option for areas that have no real function beyond the view they provide. Rocky Mountain Fescue should be seeded at a rate of 1 pound per 250 square feet.

Pick Up:

You can pick-up your order on an arranged date at our nursery which is located 10 km south of Black Diamond off of Hwy 22.

Greyhound:

This is generally the most economical choice unless your order is small and you are located in central or southern Alberta.

Canada Post:

Mail delivery offers more convenience but can be quite expensive if you have a large order as they are billing by size as well as weight.

Most Economical:

We will check the rates with Greyhound and Canada Post then ship your order in the most cost effective way.

Wildflower Waiting List - To be placed on a waiting list for a wildflower that is new or sold out please send your name, contact info and the variety you are looking for by email to Wildflower Waiting List. Our current season's crops start to become available for sale in July but may be later depending on the variety.
 

PAYMENT METHODS

You can pay for you order with Visa or M/C over the phone or online with PayPal where other options are also available. We also accept Cheques or Money Orders made out to Wild About Flowers. Please wait until you have received your order confirmation email and invoice number before attempting to pay for your order.
 
Once you have submitted your order we will confirm the availability of your selections, calculate the shipping cost (if applicable) and send you an Order Confirmation email. This email will contain an invoice with the item summary and the total cost of your order. To complete our transaction simply submit your payment and we will process your order.
