Prairie Sage
Artemisia ludoviciana |
Description: Silky silvery foliage is soft and aromatic but gets woody with age. The foliage is the main appeal of this drought tolerant sun loving perennial and it also has fall color appeal with pinky yellow hues. On hot windy days this plant seems to glisten as the silvery foliage moves in the breeze and releases the sage like sent. Plant around exposed sitting areas and enjoy its calming qualities.
Found in Nature: Dry open sites, sunny meadows and roadside ditches.
