Description: The descriptive name of this native grass hits the mark when describing the attractive seed head that it forms. As the seed heads dry out and turn yellow, their bristles twist and loop around. This interesting display is quite eye-catching in any landscape.

Found in Nature: Dry, fairly open slopes sometimes on rocky ground in the prairies and foothills.
