Wild About flowers

Star Flowered False Solomon's Seal
Maianthemum stellatum

Description: This is a very versatile wildflower with lots going for it. Pretty white flowers in the spring turn to maroon berries with black striping as the summer wears out. In the fall the foliage turns bright yellow and stands out in the landscape. This plant is happy to grow in a variety of conditions and spreads by rhizomes to help fill in empty spaces. It's very attractive in moist shaded areas where it can grow tall and bow over in gracefully to present its blooms.
